PWC’s Anti-Human Trafficking Program

For over two decades, PWC has worked with the community, government agencies, community based organizations, and academic institutions to identify and support Filipino trafficking victims and survivors. We recognized that many people in our community are vulnerable to being forced into trafficking situations due to socioeconomics, language barriers, and lack of systematic outreach. In response to the deep need for the Filipino community to have targeted support regarding trafficking, PWC launched our anti-human trafficking program, Towards Freedom, in 2019. Since then, we have helped over 55 human trafficking survivors to win their cases and get their T-visas. We have provided support to survivors in various areas of the country by sending our Bayong ng Tulong and PWC care boxes filled with groceries and other essentials. We also held a 4-day Anti-human Trafficking online series to spread awareness and resources to over 1,000 attendees nationwide. We continue to pursue our efforts to advocate for changes in the J-1 visa program to support current victims of human trafficking and prevent future cases.

All of this work happens with the power of survivors and community allies.
